Fins and Scales: A Kosher Tale
Published in Paperback by Kar-Ben Publishing (January, 1992)
Average review score:

Very Neat!As a Gentile, I had very little knowledge of kosher foods before reading this book. It is very cleverly written and is almost too catchy to read it silently. The book has helped me better understand the practice of eating kosher foods.

The First Emperor of China
Published in Hardcover by Pan Macmillan (28 September, 1989)
Average review score:

Beautiful! This book accompanies an IMAX film of the same name. Exquisite in-detail look at the Qin dynasty. Although one of the shortest dynasties, it was arguably the most important in Chinese history. Gorgeous photo dramatizations of true (and purported) events courtesy of the Xi'an film studio as well as many pictures of historical artifacts. It gives an introduction to Qin Shihuang, his army, his advisors, his laws, his public-works projects, palace intrigue and his legacy. The book outlines the exciting and dramatic detials of what it was like to live during the Warring States Period, the Qin and early Han dynasties. The authors have truly poured a lot of thought and care into writing it.

The First Time I Saw Paris: Photographs and Memories from the City of Light
Published in Hardcover by Times Books (November, 1999)
Average review score:

"The First Time I Saw Paris:Everyone likes flipping through good photography books but this one you'll have to read. Aside from superb photography, Miller captures the soul of Paris in a way pictures of monuments never can. These Parisians look right into your soul -- and vice versa -- even before you read Miller's commentary. If you love Paris (particularly pre-McDonald's) you have to check out this book. Plus there's Miller's own poignant, amusing, self-revelatory look at an American GI in the postwar City of Light. Life is really about people, not monuments, and Paris is no exception.

Firstfruits Living: Giving God Our Best
Published in Paperback by Herald Pr (February, 1991)
Average review score:

Makes you stop and think..Great book. Lynn has a very profoundly humerous way of showing us God's goodness and how we should honor that gift with the first and best we have to offer. The short, many times humerous stories give us examples and leasons to live by. He also helps us to reflect on our ideas and sadly, often our greed when it comes to our wealth or hording. But, it also celebrate God's infinte blessing to his people. Good also as a study guide for Christian stewardship. Lynns background as a missionary to many foreign and third world countries gives him, I believe, a unique perspective on "American" stewardship principles(or lack off).

Most innovative short-cut cooking that's done within 30 min.Not for the calorie conscious, but easy, shortcuts to making completed dinner. Innovative ideas like making enough for 4 persons and then making your own "TV Dinners" with the rest for later in the week. Very creative combinations of foods, not complicated. Great gift for bachelor.
